Kaleb Layne Nix, 26, has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, according to the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office.
Nix, who worked as a babysitter for numerous families between 2018 and 2023, was arrested after Arlington Police received an online tip in 2023 regarding child pornography. A subsequent search warrant of his phone revealed over 17,000 images of child pornography.
The investigation further uncovered that Nix had sexually abused 15 children, ranging in age from 1 to 9 years old, whom he had babysat.
The case was prosecuted by Steven Elliott, with DA investigator Brent Ezelle and victim coordinator Carma Anderson also involved.
Nix had previously been sentenced to 60 years in federal prison in December 2024 for sexual exploitation of children. That investigation began with a cybertip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding child sexual abuse material online.
The recent state case prosecuted Nix for his crimes committed within Texas.
