The City of Fort Worth, in collaboration with Trinity Metro and the Urban Rail Committee Supporting Economic Development and Tourism, has announced plans to explore urban mobility solutions through a feasibility study.
This study, part of an early-stage initiative, will assess transit solutions for high-density corridors in the city, marking the first step in creating a more efficient and resilient transportation network. The Urban Rail Committee, launched by Mayor Mattie Parker in 2024, includes leaders from business, tourism, transportation, and higher education sectors.
“As one of the largest and fastest-growing cities in the U.S., Fort Worth needs a forward-thinking approach to transportation planning,” said Mayor Parker. “This committee’s expertise will help us shape a transit system that supports our city’s future growth and ensures mobility for over 1 million people.”
The ongoing study aims to determine how urban rail could improve connectivity, stimulate economic development, and enhance Fort Worth’s position as a hub for business and tourism, ensuring long-term growth and vitality.
