On March 5, 2025, at approximately 6:55 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 2600 block of The Mall near the medical district. Upon arrival, officers found 45-year-old Zanthia Harris with gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Through their investigation, police identified 50-year-old John Harris as a suspect in the case. He was arrested, taken to Dallas County Jail, and charged with Murder. Authorities confirmed that the victim and suspect were known to one another, but the exact relationship was not revealed.
