A Collin County man has been charged with Capital Murder of Multiple Persons after allegedly shooting his pregnant girlfriend, claiming the incident was accidental.
The Collin County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call just before 9:00 a.m. on March 17, 2025, from a man reporting that he had accidentally shot his girlfriend at a home on North State Highway 78 in Blue Ridge.
Deputies arrived to find 23-year-old Hannah Blanchard inside the residence with a gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures, but Blanchard was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooter, identified as 35-year-old Carl Stanley Chrisenberry, was taken into custody at the scene. Authorities also recovered a firearm outside the home as evidence.
Blanchard was pregnant at the time of her death and was also a mother to a 4-year-old child.
Chrisenberry was booked into the Collin County Detention Facility on March 17, 2025, with bond set at $1,500,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
