On Thursday, April 10, 2025, a shooting occurred involving Killeen Police officers while they were assisting the United States Secret Service (USSS) with a consensual interview.
At approximately 3:20 p.m., three Killeen Police officers and two USSS agents arrived at a residence in the 2600 block of Larissa Drive. After being allowed inside by an occupant, they made contact with a 24-year-old male who was the subject of the interview.
For the safety of the officers, a pat-down was conducted on the male. During the pat-down, officers detected a semi-automatic pistol in the male’s front pocket. A struggle ensued, leading two Killeen Police officers to discharge their duty weapons, striking the suspect multiple times.
Following the shooting, officers and USSS agents immediately provided aid to the injured suspect until paramedics arrived at the scene. The male was then airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in critical condition.
The Killeen Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is now leading the investigation into the officer-involved shooting. Additionally, the Killeen Police Department’s Internal Affairs Unit will conduct an administrative review of the incident. The Bell County District Attorney’s Office is also assisting with the investigation.
