Cement Truck Driver Flees After Accident, Leads Colleyville Police on Chase Near Elementary School

On Friday, April 11, 2025, at approximately 9:40 a.m., a Colleyville Police Officer witnessed a minor traffic accident in the 2700 block of Glade Road where a cement truck struck another vehicle and failed to stop.

After ensuring the victim of the initial collision was not injured, the Colleyville Officer proceeded into the Brook Meadows neighborhood, the last known location of the cement truck. The officer then observed the cement truck crossing Jackson Road from Lakeside Drive and entering the Thornbury neighborhood through a security gate that was open for another vehicle.

Despite the Colleyville Officer activating their emergency lights and siren, the cement truck driver refused to yield and continued to evade. The pursuit ended in the 4900 block of Meandering Way when the driver abandoned the truck and fled on foot, scaling a brick wall and running northbound across Glade Road.

Due to the suspect's proximity to O.C. Taylor Elementary School, the school was placed into a Secure response as a precautionary measure.

Multiple Colleyville Police Officers established a perimeter and were assisted by officers from Southlake Police Department, Southlake Police K9 Zeusz, Keller Police Department, and Grapevine Police Department. The suspect, a 27-year-old Hispanic male, was eventually located hiding inside a residence in the 5100 block of Pool Road. K9 Zeusz secured the suspect until Colleyville Officers could take him into custody. His identity will be released following his arraignment on pending charges.
