Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced today, Wednesday, April 16th, that Cody Wayne McCollom, 37, of Princeton, has been sentenced to 60 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of Sexual Assault of a Child. McCollom, identified as a violent repeat offender and confirmed member of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas gang, systematically groomed, drugged, and repeatedly raped a 14-year-old girl across multiple cities in Collin County.
The court heard that McCollom, who had previously served time for multiple aggravated robberies, was paroled in the spring of 2022 and subsequently reconnected with the then 14-year-old victim, supplying her with illegal drugs. The sexual assaults began in January 2024 and occurred in Anna, Princeton, McKinney, and Melissa.
In June 2024, the child bravely disclosed the abuse to her mother, who immediately contacted McKinney Police. The victim later provided a detailed forensic interview at the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County.
A coordinated law enforcement effort involving Detectives Toni Wright and Jonathan Glidden of the McKinney Police Department, Tyler Bradford of the Princeton Police Department, and Alexis Diaz of the Anna Police Department worked across jurisdictions to investigate McCollom and secure the necessary evidence for prosecution.
During the punishment phase of the trial, jurors learned that McCollom had joined the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas while incarcerated and remained an active member after his release. Due to his prior felony convictions, McCollom faced a sentencing range of 25 years to life in prison. The jury ultimately sentenced him to 60 years, which he must serve day-for-day without the possibility of parole.
District Attorney Greg Willis stated, “McCollom groomed and drugged a vulnerable 14-year-old, then raped her again and again across our county. Thanks to the victim’s courage and the outstanding police collaboration across multiple cities, this violent gang member has finally been held accountable. He will never hurt another child again.”
Judge Tom Nowak presided over the case, which was prosecuted by Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Abbie Adkins and Charles Brazell, with support from DA Investigator Kim Voigt-Eanes, Victim Assistance Coordinator Melissa White, and Legal Secretary Christy Ware.
