A driver has been arrested and charged after a major accident involving a vehicle and an electric bicycle left two teenage males injured in Farmers Branch on Wednesday evening.
At 5:18 p.m. on April 16, 2025, Farmers Branch patrol officers responded to the 2600 block of Valley View Lane. Upon arrival, they found two injured teenage males who were treated by Fire personnel and transported to a local hospital.
Officers at the scene observed an electric bicycle trapped under the front of a passenger vehicle, which was stopped approximately 20 feet from a crosswalk. A witness reported seeing the vehicle fail to stop for the crosswalk and strike the two teenagers as they attempted to cross Valley View Lane. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigating officers.
The Farmers Branch Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team was deployed and is conducting a comprehensive investigation into the collision. The adult male driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with Motor Vehicle Collision Involving Pedestrian or Other Vulnerable Road User Within Area of Crosswalk, including one advanced charge for causing Serious Bodily Injury, a state jail felony.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are being released at this time.
