Azle Police officers arrested 31-year-old Carlos Font Santiago on Thursday, April 17th, for an improper relationship between an educator and a student.
According to the Azle Independent School District (ISD), a former student contacted the police and reported that the alleged relationship occurred several years ago.
Carlos Font Santiago, who is listed as 37 years old in some reports, has been employed by Azle ISD for the past seven years as a teacher and assistant coach in various sports. He was promoted to head softball coach in 2024. As the investigation proceeds, he is prohibited from being on district property and from having any contact with students.
In a letter to parents, Azle ISD stated, "The district takes allegations of inappropriate behavior between an employee and student seriously, and our top priority is to ensure a safe learning environment for our students."
