Early Sunday morning, April 27th, at approximately 1:35 a.m., a Little Elm Police officer responded to a call about two suspicious individuals in the 2500 block of Cain River Drive.
When the officer located the individuals, a foot pursuit began. During the chase, the two suspects split up. One of the individuals discharged a firearm toward the officer. The officer was not struck or injured, and no return fire occurred.
The officer was able to apprehend one of the suspects. A heavy police presence remains in the area as authorities continue to search for the second individual.
