The Haltom City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating 17-year-old Emma Cruz, who was last seen leaving Haltom High School voluntarily without permission at approximately 11:45 a.m. on April 3, 2025.
Emma has not returned home or attended school since that time. While she has reportedly contacted friends via social media, stating she is doing well and out of state, her exact location remains unknown.
The Haltom City Police Department currently has no indication that Emma is in danger. However, they emphasize the concern that arises when a minor leaves home and fails to maintain contact with family.
Emma has been officially entered into the Texas Crime Information Center (TCIC) and the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as a missing person. She is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair, which may now be dyed a darker color.
Authorities are urging Emma, if she is monitoring local news, to contact the Haltom City Police Department directly or her local law enforcement agency to confirm her well-being.
The department also reminded the public that Texas law prohibits knowingly harboring or hiding a child under 18 who has voluntarily left home without parental or guardian consent for a significant period or without the intent to return. Violators may face criminal charges.
Anyone with information regarding Emma’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Haltom City Police Department at 817-222-7000.
The Haltom City Police Department clarified that Emma was reported missing on the evening of April 3, 2025, the same day she left Haltom High School and was immediately entered into TCIC/NCIC. While investigators have indications that Emma is alive and voluntarily absent, as a 17-year-old, she is still considered a minor under civil law, and law enforcement's goal is to ensure her welfare and reunite her with her family.
