ARLINGTON, TX — A 36-year-old Arlington resident has been sentenced to 405 months in federal prison for Production of Child Pornography and Illegal Possession of a Machinegun, announced Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Nancy E. Larson.
Carlos Isaac Barrientos was sentenced on July 24, 2025, by United States District Judge Reed O’Connor after pleading guilty on April 16, 2025.
According to court documents, the investigation began in late September 2024, when the Bedford Police Department launched a probe into the theft of a truck belonging to a local business. A few days later, the Arlington Police Department located the stolen vehicle and returned it to the owners.
Inside the vehicle, officers found multiple bags containing cell phones and illegal firearms linked to Barrientos. A forensic analysis of the devices conducted by agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives uncovered images and videos of child pornography.
Barrientos was arrested, charged, and later admitted guilt to both federal offenses.
The case was investigated by the Arlington Police Department, Bedford Police Department, ATF, and the Department of Homeland Security. Assistant U.S. Attorney Allyson Monte prosecuted the case.
