Ranchview High School Varsity Treble Choir Receives High Marks

The Ranchview High School Varsity Treble choir competed in the annual UIL Concert and Sight-Reading competition at R. L. Turner High School. The contest featured every choir in the region. Ranchview was the smallest school represented at the competition. The Ranchview High School choir is also the only varsity level 3A choir. Once again, the Ranchview music department represented the school in a "Superior" manner.

There are two parts to the competition- the concert portion consists of the choir singing three prepared selections. The second part of the contest is the sight-reading portion where the choir is given 6 minutes to study a piece they have never seen before and perform for the judges. Each part of the competition has a panel of three judges who rate the group on a scale of 1-5- 1= Superior, 2= Excellent, 3= Good, 4= fair, 5= poor.

The judges gave the Ranchview choir glowing remarks on stage and the choir received 1’s "Superior" from all of the stage judges. The Ranchview choir received "Excellent" marks from all of the sight- reading judges.
