“Where did you go to school?” “What kind of car do you drive?” “How much money do you make?” These are a handful of questions the W.T. Hanes Elementary School fourth graders threw at Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne during her recent visit. She spoke to over 100 fourth graders about municipal government, local elections, and how to run a successful campaign.
The curious 9 and 10 year olds will be holding class election next week to study more about the election process.
