Dallas Jury Sentences Fake Cop to 40 Years for Armed Robbery

Defendant: Quintrick Bickham

Dallas, TX – A Dallas County jury has found 40-year-old Quintrick Bickham guilty of Aggravated Robbery and Impersonating a Public Servant, sentencing him to 40 years in prison for posing as a police officer to commit a violent robbery.

In the early morning hours of July 28, 2024, Bickham followed a driver from a red light all the way to his apartment complex. Once the victim parked, Bickham approached wearing a dark vest with reflective stripes, handcuffs in view, and his hand resting on a holstered weapon—a calculated attempt to appear as a police officer. He ordered the victim to hand over his driver’s license, and believing Bickham was law enforcement, the victim complied.

After gaining the victim’s trust, Bickham searched the vehicle and stole $80 in cash and a pair of Apple AirPods. Luckily, a passenger in the victim’s car recorded the entire encounter on her phone.

When the victim showed the footage to police, an officer immediately recognized Bickham. Just three weeks earlier, on July 3, 2024, Bickham had been suspected in a nearly identical robbery involving the same impersonation tactic. Detectives quickly obtained a warrant for his arrest.

At the time of this offense, Bickham was on parole from a 2017 robbery conviction, for which he had been sentenced to 35 years in prison—a case where he also posed as an officer to commit the crime.

This latest conviction demonstrates his ongoing pattern of deception and violence, and the court imposed a 40-year prison sentence to protect the public from further harm.

The case was prosecuted by Lead Prosecutor Samantha Jackson and 2nd Chair Blake Penfield, with investigative support from DA Investigator Aleciah Taylor, assisted by Laura Brakefield and Maria Carrera, and DA Paralegal Shannon VanLoggerenberg. The investigation was conducted by the Dallas Police Department.
