On October 10, 2025, at approximately 11:45 a.m., the Dallas Police Central Investigative Unit alerted the North Central Crime Response Team about a known retail theft crew. The suspects had committed an offense in the 6400 block of E. Mockingbird Lane and were seen leaving the scene heading northbound on Abrams Road.
Responding immediately, the North Central Crime Response Team positioned themselves at the suspects’ next likely target location at Preston Road and Royal Lane. Officers observed the suspect vehicle arrive at the location and quickly moved to stop it. Inside the vehicle, officers found three juveniles and 22-year-old Zakerra Jackson, who was driving.
All four were taken into custody. The juveniles were charged with Theft of Property valued between $2,500 and $30,000, while Jackson faced the same theft charge in addition to outstanding warrants from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.
At the scene, police recovered more than $21,000 worth of stolen merchandise, which was returned to the rightful owner.
Major Pollyanna Ashford, North Central Patrol Commander, commended the officers for their swift and strategic response, stating, “Thanks to the quick and clever response of our officers, we not only brought justice to the owner but also played a key role in restoring an element of their livelihood. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.”
