DALLAS, TX — A multi-unit Dallas Police Department operation targeting violent and drug-related crime in the city’s southwest area resulted in 16 felony arrests, the recovery of a stolen vehicle, and the seizure of two firearms and multiple illegal drugs, officials announced.

On Friday, October 3, officers from the Southwest and South Central Patrol Divisions’ CRT/Deployment Units joined forces with the Gang Unit and Place Network Investigations Unit for a coordinated effort to disrupt criminal activity.

Among the notable arrests:

  • Trayshawn Hall, 29, was taken into custody for three felony probation violations, including narcotics and manslaughter charges.

  • Jeffrey Eckels, 40, was arrested on outstanding warrants related to felony-level heroin offenses.

  • Brandon Tristan, 24, was initially arrested on a family violence warrant and later charged with Aggravated Robbery after being identified as a robbery suspect.

During the operation, investigators also located Edward Gallegos, 42, who was wanted on multiple first-degree felony charges, including Aggravated Assault – Family Violence and felony drug offenses. He was arrested by Dallas SWAT, with assistance from the Cockrell Hill Police Department.

“Proactive policing disrupts the cycle of violence that harms our community,” said Deputy Chief Kylee Hawks of the South Patrol Group. “By focusing our resources, we are making good arrests and keeping our neighbors safe.”
