Man Killed in Late-Night Shooting in Fort Worth's Carter Riverside Neighborhood

FORT WORTH, Texas - A late-night shooting in the Carter Riverside area left one man dead, and investigators are now working to determine what led up to the violence.

Fort Worth police were called to the 2200 block of David Drive around 11:40 p.m. Thursday after reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found an adult male inside a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers immediately began rendering aid until Fort Worth Fire Department crews and MedStar EMS arrived. Despite those efforts, the man died at the scene and was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

Details surrounding the shooting remain limited. Police have not released information about a suspect or what may have prompted the gunfire. Homicide detectives are actively investigating and say additional information will be shared as it becomes available.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death and is responsible for formally identifying the victim.
