IRVING, Texas - The City of Irving is offering financial support to first-time homebuyers through its Downpayment Assistance Program, aimed at helping qualified residents cover down payment and closing costs on homes within the city.
City officials said the program is designed to increase homeownership, promote financial self-sufficiency, and support neighborhood stability. Assistance is available to applicants who meet specific eligibility requirements and complete the program’s application process.
To qualify, applicants must be approved for a home loan through a City of Irving-approved lender, must not have owned a home within the past three years, and must earn no more than 80 percent of the area median income based on federal guidelines. Applicants are also required to complete all program application steps.
The program is administered by the Irving Housing and Redevelopment Division and is funded through the Home Investment Partnerships Program, a grant provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
