Two Young Women Arrested at Heritage Park in Irving for Alcohol Violation and Resisting Officers

Rylee Lenay Beighey and Aliana Guel

IRVING, Texas - Two North Irving residents were arrested Sunday, February 15, 2026, after an ordinance violation at Heritage Park escalated into multiple charges, according to Irving police.

At approximately 4:23 p.m., an Irving police officer was dispatched to Heritage Park, located in the 200 block of South Main Street in downtown Irving, after receiving a report that three individuals were consuming alcohol inside the city park. Heritage Park is designated as a Drug Free Zone under city ordinance.

Upon arrival, the officer observed two individuals, later identified as 18-year-old Rylee Lenay Beighey and 17-year-old Aliana Guel, seated at a park table with an open alcoholic beverage that was about one-quarter full. The third individual,  described as an unidentified Black male, had already left the area.

Police said Beighey appeared heavily intoxicated, staggering as she walked and requiring assistance from Guel to stand.

As the officer approached, both individuals began walking away toward a nearby vehicle despite repeated commands to stop. The officer ultimately stopped Beighey by grabbing her shirt after she continued walking.

According to police, Guel stepped between the officer and Beighey in an attempt to prevent detention.

Officers noted Beighey had slurred speech, glossy eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol on her breath.  As a result, Beighey was administered a Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test, which showed four clues of impairment, though officers stated she appeared more intoxicated than the test indicated.

Beighey was arrested for evading arrest and resisted being handcuffed by pulling away, twisting her body, and flexing her arms, police said.

Guel was arrested for interfering with public duties and also resisted arrest by pulling away, twisting her body, and refusing to comply, requiring officers to physically lift her into a patrol vehicle.

During a search of Guel’s purse, officers located a THC vape pen containing approximately 0.5 grams of tetrahydrocannabinol, classified as a Penalty Group 2 drug under the Texas Health and Safety Code.

Both women were booked into the Irving Jail.

Beighey was charged with Evading Arrest and Resisting Arrest. Guel was charged with Interfering with Public Duties, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of a Controlled Substance PG2 in a Drug Free Zone.

Police also impounded a black 2013 Honda Accord connected to the incident.
