LEWISVILLE, Texas — A man is in custody following a deadly shooting outside a Lewisville bar early Sunday morning that left one person dead, according to police.
Shortly after 1 a.m. on March 1st, officers with the Lewisville Police Department responded to a reported shooting at a bar in the 1100 block of Texas Street. When officers arrived, they located an adult male in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers immediately began life-saving measures while additional units secured the scene and launched an investigation. Witnesses provided officers with a description of the suspected shooter, later identified as 40-year-old Ronald Lamont Ross.
Officers located Ross nearby and took him into custody without incident, police said.
The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, but later succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s identity will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office pending notification of next of kin.
Ross has been charged with Murder and Tampering with Evidence.
The investigation remains ongoing.
