Dallas, TX — A Dallas man wanted on multiple warrants was arrested after fleeing from a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper and barricading himself inside a residence, authorities said.
According to DPS, the incident began on March 3 around 2:30 p.m. when a trooper patrolling Frankford Road near the Dallas North Tollway received an automated license plate reader alert.
The alert indicated the registered owner of the vehicle had active felony and misdemeanor warrants.
The trooper located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop and fled.
Authorities said the suspect drove to the 4100 block of Firebrick Lane in Dallas, where he ran into a residence and barricaded himself inside.
The Dallas Police Department’s SWAT team responded and entered the home, but the suspect had already fled before officers made entry.
Investigators continued searching for the suspect and located him the following day.
On March 4, the DPS Criminal Investigations Division arrested 29-year-old Justin Givens of Dallas without incident.
Givens was booked into the Dallas County Jail on two felony warrants issued by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office for Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
He also faces a misdemeanor warrant from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office for Evading Arrest and a misdemeanor warrant from DPS for Evading Arrest.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
