Dallas, TX — Dallas police have arrested a man they say is responsible for three drive-by shootings that occurred within an hour in 2024, along with an armed carjacking later that same month.
According to the Dallas Police Department, Gang Unit officers arrested 21-year-old Nehemiah Drake on February 11, 2026, following a lengthy investigation into multiple violent incidents.
On June 11, 2024, officers responded to three separate shooting scenes within about one hour in the 6800 block of Nandina Drive, the 1400 block of McKenzie Street and the 4200 block of Willow Springs Lane. Investigators determined that suspects fired from a moving vehicle as they drove past the locations.
Detectives later determined that nearly 300 rounds were fired during the series of drive-by shootings.
A few weeks later, on June 23, 2024, officers responded to a robbery in progress in the 3300 block of Junction Street. Police said multiple suspects had stolen a vehicle at gunpoint before later crashing it.
When officers recovered the vehicle, they discovered a pistol equipped with a machine gun conversion device inside.
Detectives were able to forensically link Drake to the firearm, and investigators later determined the same weapon had been used in the June 11 drive-by shootings.
Drake has been charged with three counts of deadly conduct – discharge firearm, a third-degree felony, and prohibited weapon, also a third-degree felony.
“The safe apprehension of this violent impact offender reflects the Dallas Police Department’s unwavering commitment to public safety,” said Major Andre Taylor, commander of the Tactical Investigations Division. “If you put others in danger, you will be held accountable, no matter how long it takes to find you.”
The cases are documented under Dallas Police Department case numbers 090090-2024, 090088-2024, 090105-2024 and 096524-2024.
