Two Dead, Including Child, After Two-Alarm House Fire in Colleyville

COLLEYVILLE, Texas — A residential fire in Colleyville left one adult and one child dead Saturday night, April 25th, after firefighters rescued three people from a smoke-filled home, according to the Colleyville Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to the 4700 block of Bill Simmons Drive and arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the residence. An initial report indicated two children were inside, prompting immediate fire attack and rescue efforts.

Officials said both adult occupants had exited the home before firefighters arrived, but one adult reentered the structure. During rescue operations, firefighters located that adult and two children inside and removed them to awaiting paramedics.

All three patients received advanced life support at the scene and were transported to area hospitals. Authorities said one adult and one child later died from their injuries despite extensive lifesaving efforts.

Due to the scale of the incident, additional resources were requested, leading to a multi-agency response under mutual aid agreements. Assisting agencies helped with fire suppression, rescue operations and scene management.

The fire was brought under control, and crews remained at the scene to conduct overhaul operations and begin investigating the cause and origin of the fire.

The Colleyville Fire Department and the City of Colleyville extended their deepest condolences to the family and all those affected by this tragic incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
