DALLAS COUNTY, Texas — A 21-year-old man was sentenced to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a child in a case investigated by the DeSoto Police Department.
According to prosecutors, Deonte Demond Browning pleaded guilty before Stephanie Huff on April 8, 2026.
The sentence includes no possibility of parole.
Prosecutors said the now 6-year-old victim testified during the proceedings alongside his mother, detailing the abuse the child suffered.
The State also introduced testimony from another mother and son who traveled from Michigan to describe prior abuse they said they experienced involving Browning.
During the case, Browning testified and expressed remorse while accepting responsibility for his actions, according to prosecutors. However, authorities said the jury ultimately rejected his statements and found his testimony insincere.
The case was led by prosecutor Darryl Morris with assistance from Megan Bisacca, District Attorney Investigator Lorraine Resendez, and Victim Advocate Nathaly Mendez.
Family members told prosecutors they were satisfied with the outcome and felt the sentence brought them closure, according to court officials.
