RICHARDSON, Texas - Richardson Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle that occurred Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, officers responded around 2:07 p.m. on May 20 to the 1100 block of Pacific Drive after receiving reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a sedan.
Preliminary investigators said the sedan was attempting to make a U-turn when it was struck by the motorcycle. Following the initial impact, the motorcycle also collided with a parked vehicle.
The motorcycle operator was transported to a local hospital, where the rider later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Police said the driver of the sedan was not injured.
The department’s Richardson Police Department Special Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene and continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
