Grand Prairie ISD Teacher Arrested in Duncanville on First-Degree Child Sexual Assault Charge

DUNCANVILLE, Texas — A Grand Prairie ISD teacher has been arrested and placed on administrative leave after being charged with first-degree felony sexual assault of a child, local law enforcement officials announced Friday.

James Robinson, a resident of Duncanville, was taken into custody on Friday, August 7, 2026, by the Duncanville Police Department. He faces a charge of Sexual Assault of a Child – Prohibited Person, a first-degree felony under Texas law.

District Place Teacher on Leave Following Ongoing Investigation

The arrest stems from an active criminal investigation conducted by the Duncanville Police Department. Following notification of the charges, Grand Prairie ISD placed Robinson on administrative leave.

Department officials stated that additional details regarding the background of the investigation or the identity of the victim will not be released at this time in order to protect the privacy of the individuals involved and preserve the integrity of the ongoing legal proceedings.

The Duncanville Police Department emphasized that it recognizes the serious nature of allegations involving crimes against children and remains committed to conducting thorough, impartial investigations while ensuring victims receive appropriate support and resources.

After the arrest, Grand Prairie ISD placed Robinson on administrative leave.
