LEWISVILLE, Texas - A 21-year-old Lewisville man was arrested after police say he threatened to stab his younger brother with a knife before putting him in a chokehold and punching him during an argument inside their home.

Gavin Anders Davis, 21, was arrested following the incident on August 24, 2026, at a residence in the 2000 block of Piedmont Drive near West Corporate Drive.

Lewisville Police officers responded at approximately 12:13 p.m. after receiving a report of an assault in progress. Dispatchers were told that Davis had assaulted his 19-year-old brother, Aiden Finn Davis, and threatened him with a knife.

According to the police report, the confrontation began in the kitchen while Gavin was preparing food. Gavin told his brother to move out of the way, and the two exchanged words.

Gavin initially went into the backyard in an attempt to calm down but later returned to the kitchen, where the argument resumed.

Aiden told officers that Gavin was holding a knife when he threatened to stab him if he did not stop talking.

The brothers eventually stopped arguing, and Gavin again went outside. Aiden told police that Gavin soon returned, walked directly toward him and began shoving him.

Police Say Brother Was Put in Chokehold

According to the report, Gavin grabbed Aiden by his shirt and placed him in a chokehold. Aiden told officers he was unable to breathe while his brother's arm was around his neck.

Gavin then allegedly punched Aiden in the face multiple times and took him to the ground, injuring Aiden's left shoulder.

Aiden told police he scratched Gavin and pulled his hair while attempting to get free. The brothers eventually separated.

Aiden also told officers that Gavin had assaulted him on previous occasions.

Police arrested Gavin on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Assault of a Family or Household Member Impeding Breath or Circulation, and Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member.

Police said the substance in the device produced a presumptive positive result for THC using a field test. An officer estimated that less than one gram of oil remained in the vape.

Davis was subsequently also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2, less than one gram.

He remains in-custody at the Denton County Jail and his bond has been set at $23,000.
