IISD Holds Active Shooter Drill at Bowie Middle School

The Irving Police Department in conjunction with Irving ISD, the City of Irving’s Emergency Management Department and Irving Fire Department performed an active shooter drill on March 29, 2013 at Bowie Middle School. This event had been in the planning stages for the past six months and involved over 170 Irving Police Department employees in addition to numerous city and school district staff members. The active shooter drill took place between 9:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m., but law enforcement teams were on site all day for additional training and evaluation.
