MacArthur Advance Architecture Class Gets Challenged

The MacArthur High School Advanced Architecture classes recently visited the offices of PBK Architects in Dallas.  The group was able to tour the offices and see the workings of an Architectural Firm and talk to Architects and Engineers.  The group received a presentation on a school that PBK has designed in the Houston area.  This school will be the basis for the capstone project occurring in the class this year.  The basis of the project is to design an interactive, LEED & CHIPS certified eco friendly school.  This will push past the traditional elementary school, and bring in 21st Century learning with collaborative learning zones, interactive media, and an all encompassing total learning environment that is heavily immersed in STEM.  The students will work on this project for most of the remainder of the year, with project presentations in May.
