The Irving ISD Board of Trustees named Debbie Cabrera as the acting interim superintendent. Debbie Cabrera has been with Irving ISD since 1997, serving in a number of roles including associate superintendent of business services.
“Ms. Cabrera has the experience and leadership that will keep Irving ISD moving forward as we continue our search for a long-term interim and begin our search for the next superintendent,” said Board President Dr. Steven Jones. “We are committed to the students, staff and families of this great district, and today begins the process of finding the next leader to guide Irving ISD.”
The Board of Trustees is expected to interview candidates in mid July for interim superintendent and hire a superintendent search firm to help identify top educational leaders to be considered for superintendent. Their next board meeting is at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 18.
