MacArthur Takes Judas to Austin

Irving's MacArthur High School theater department won the Region 1-5A UIL One-Act Play competition April 25 at Texas Tech University, and will advance to its first state-level theater competition since the UIL program began.
 
Performing The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, MacArthur students Kenneth Black and Josh Moore captured All-Star cast awards, and Donald Bennet and Jason Douglass were awarded honorable mention All-Star cast. Keller Central High School will join MacArthur in representing Region 1-5A.
 
MacArthur will perform first at state UIL competition, taking the stage at 4 p.m. May 16 at Hogg Memorial Auditorium at University of Texas at Austin.
 
MacArthur earned top scores at zone, district, area and regional to advance to the 83rd Annual UIL State One-Act Play Contest. Of more than 350 5A high schools that began the competition, MacArthur is one of only eight that will advance to the state championship.
