Megan Lloyd, eighth grader at Crockett Middle School, has been selected to attend the Education in Action’s Lone Star Leadership Academy in Houston August 10-14.
The week-long program includes sessions to develop leadership skills and learning about Texas and state government. Sessions also include career and internship opportunities and visits to many significant Texas landmarks.
Lloyd is the daughter of Rhodes Lloyd and Nancy Lesky, and is active in Crime Stoppers, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, and girls’ athletics at Crockett. She was recommended for the Academy by her reading teacher, April Scott. Scott’s recommendation, coupled with Lloyd’s academic success and demonstrated leadership ability, qualified her to be among seventh and eighth graders from across Texas attending the Academy.
