Orchestra students from Irving ISD high schools traveled to Highland Park High School for UIL Solo & Ensemble auditions January 31.
Soloists advancing to the Texas Solo & Ensemble competition as a result of regional auditions are Josie Cannon, viola, MacArthur High School and Jasmin Hernandez, violin, MacArthur.
Ensemble performers advancing to state competition are all from Nimitz High School and include: Allison Lewis, Edwin Ibarra and Mauricio Valdovinos, string trio; Destiny Oates, Allison Lewis and Ali Marcano-Tovar, string trio; Minh Duc Le and Mauricio Valdovinos, cello duet; and Kevin Sanchez and Ali-Marcano-Tovar, cello duet.
The Texas UIL Solo & Ensemble competition will be May 22-23 at University of Texas at Austin.
