BY IRVING WEEKLY STAFF

Irving, Texas. May 4, 2021

US News and World Report has released its rankings, and four Irving ISD high schools ranked in the top one-third of the best high schools in the nation, with Singley being ranked in the top 8%, MacArthur in the top 15%, Irving in the top 21% and Nimitz in the top 29% respectively.

“I am extremely proud of the incredible work of our students and staff at our high schools,” says Magda Hernandez, Superintendent of Schools. “These rankings reflect the dedication of our teachers and the commitment of our students to achieve great success.”

The annual report rates schools by looking at six factors: college readiness, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates. Specifically, college readiness measures participation and performance on Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) exams.

This year, U.S. News surveyed nearly 24,000 schools nationwide. To view a complete list of the Best Texas High Schools, click here.
