MacArthur High School band
performs at Cowboys Stadium
The 30th Annual Irving ISD Band Festival will be at Irving Schools Stadium at 7 p.m. September 29.

The festival will feature marching band performances by Irving High School, MacArthur High School and Nimitz High School. The seven middle school bands will join the high school bands in a non-marching presentation of three America-themed songs. The Texas Christian University marching band will also present an exhibition performance.

For the marching presentations, Irving High will perform music from Cirque Du Soleil, MacArthur will present “The Rise & Fall of the Dinosaurs”, and Nimitz will present “La Fiesta Mexicana”.

Though no awards will be presented, judges will help evaluate the performances of the high school bands.

Judges are Bobby Francis, director of bands at TCU; Brian Youngblood, TCU marching band director; and James Thomas, Coppell High School color guard director.

Judges’ evaluations will help bands prepare for University Interscholastic League Region 20 marching competition October 17 at Duncanville.
