Patrick Honored for IISD Service

Nita Patrick was recognized by the IISD Board of Trustees for her six years of service to the school district as a board member.
 
Patrick was elected to Place 5 in 2004, and has served two three-year terms. Prior to retiring from the district in 1993, she taught elementary music in IISD schools for 16 years.
 
As a trustee, Patrick served on the policy review committee, curriculum and instruction committee, and student committee. Patrick has been involved in several civic and professional organizations including the Irving Music Teachers Association, Irving Retired Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association, Irving Women of Rotary, and the Irving Silvertones Choir. She is a life PTA member.
 
Mrs. Patrick holds two degrees from Texas Woman’s University: a bachelor’s in music education and a master’s in church music. She has lived in Irving since 1956 and is married to Irving City Councilman Lewis Patrick. They have four children and seven grandchildren, and her four children all attended IISD schools.
