Irving ISD Board Gives Green Light to Incentives for the 2023-2024 School Year

Irving Independent School District (ISD) has recently made an exciting announcement regarding its employee incentives for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. The Board of Trustees has given their unanimous approval to provide retention incentives for returning full-time employees and a signing bonus for new full-time hires.

The retention incentive aims to recognize the dedication and commitment of the district's existing staff members. Eligible employees who meet the specified criteria will receive a one-time payment of $2,000. The district plans to distribute these payments to eligible employees by the end of October, providing a timely reward for their ongoing service.

Additionally, Irving ISD is eager to attract new talent to join their educational community. Full-time new hires will have the opportunity to receive a signing bonus, further enhancing the district's competitive edge in recruiting qualified professionals.

The Irving ISD Board's decision to approve these incentives demonstrates their dedication to supporting and valuing their staff.

Eligibility Criteria

Retention Incentive Eligibility for Current Full-Time Employees

  • Returning full-time employees who remain employed by Irving ISD and are TRS eligible on or prior to June 30, 2023.
  • Must be full-time.
  • Must be an active contributor to the TRS retirement system.
  • Must have signed a Letter of Assurance or Contract for the 2023-2024 School Year.
  • Must not have submitted a notice of intent to separate from employment with Irving ISD.

Signing Bonus Eligibility for Full-Time New Hires

  • Must be hired by August 14, 2023.
  • Must be full-time.
  • Must be TRS eligible.
  • Must have signed a Letter of Assurance or Contract for the 2023-2024 school year.
  • Must not have submitted a notice of intent to separate from employment with Irving ISD.

Please note:

  • Retirees are not eligible for the payment.
  • The retention incentive and signing bonuses are not TRS-eligible compensation.
