October Exit Level Test Dates Announced for Out-of-School Individuals

Irving ISD is announcing test dates for individuals no longer enrolled in a Texas public school and who have not previously passed all sections of the TAKS exit level tests, but have met all other graduation requirements. The TAAS tests are no longer being administered, but examinees eligible for TAAS will take the applicable English language arts (ELA) or mathematics TAKS test. TAKS scores will be matched to the appropriate TAAS passing standard. Individuals may retake the section(s) not mastered on the following testing dates: October 19 – ELA; October 20 – math; October 21 – science; and October 22 – social studies.  Registration packets are available at all Irving ISD high schools, the IISD Administration Building, and all regional education service centers. Registration forms must be completed and received in Austin, Texas, by 5 p.m. September 17, 2010. Registration can also be completed online and can be accessed at http://www.TexasAssessment.com/taksoos, also due by 5 p.m. September 17. The designated test site for IISD is Singley Academy, located at 4601 N. MacArthur Blvd. in Irving. All examinees must report to Singley Academy by 7 a.m. on the appropriate exam day. In order to be admitted to the testing site and take the exams, all examinees must show a picture ID.
