Sanjh, an Elevated Restaurant Celebrating the Many Cuisines of India, to Open in Irving/Las Colinas Late 2023

Sanjh, an elevated restaurant paying homage to 3,500 years of rich historic Indian cuisines, will open in Las Colinas in late 2023. Sanjh is the product of two experienced hospitality and restaurant industry veterans, Sanjay Joshi and Prob Arora. Sanjh will be located at 5250 N O'Connor Blvd, Suite 146, Irving, TX 75039.

Sanjay Joshi, a Dallas entrepreneur, will lead the restaurant group as CEO. With experience across several industries, both in hospitality and not, Joshi’s experience is vital in Sanjh and the future of the Tivona Group, the hospitality group behind Sanjh.

Meanwhile, Sanjh’s vice president of sales and operations, Prob Arora, is no stranger to the Dallas culinary scene. Best known for his concept, The Saffron House, where he was a co-owner and general manager during the 14 years that it was open in Addison, the restaurant was lauded for its quality food and extraordinary service with a design to match. Its reputation earned itself exclusive rights for Indian cuisine to some of the most coveted catering venues in the city including the Four Seasons, Crescent, Omni Hotels and more.

Sanjh means evenings in Hindi, and the very word itself is the inspiration behind the concept. “In India, evenings are celebrated very differently for everyone, from North to South India and everywhere in between,” says Joshi.

He continues, “The story behind Sanjh follows a curious adventurer who has traveled the country, marveling at the different food, cultures and traditions as they move from city to city. As he continue on his journey, one common thread begins to reveal itself. No matter the region, people, background or cultural differences, evenings across the country are a sacred time for people within each community to come together and share a meal, no matter what has gone on in their days; and there is something celebratory about that.”

“We hope that guests will celebrate their evenings, or sanjh, with us as it is celebrated in India,” Joshi adds.

Sanjh will invite guests to explore a new expression of exotic spices, seasonal ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques from across India’s many regions. “We want our guests to discover Indian food as you’ve never tasted it before, complete with decadent desserts and artisan cocktails crafted by world-class bartenders,” says Arora.

“Our goal is for our guests to experience the cuisine that fed emperors and kings alike - and with the help of our hospitality to join them in feeding the everyday royalty,” he adds.

Designed by ID 4 Studio, known for projects such as Loro (Addison), Ida Claire (Addison), The Ranch (Irving), and Seven Doors Kitchen & Cocktails (The Colony), the space will mirror the cuisine to elevate the dining experience and evoke an ambiance worthy of royalty. ID 4 Studio president Scott Windle says of the design, “We wanted to design a space that was rich and luxurious and set the tone for the evening as soon as guests entered the dining room.”

He adds, “Sanjh will offer a modern space with clean lines that avoids assumptions of how an Indian restaurant should be designed. A neutral palette will be complemented by the warm tones of satin brass and rich marble stone. The double height space will feel light and airy during the day and will have a warm, lustrous glow at night highlighted by a shimmery gold ceiling feature.”

Sanjh will round out the experience with a globally recognized culinary and mixology team. The website, hours, social media, and more information will be available soon.
