Over the past weekend, the Irving Police Department made a series of arrests involving individuals suspected of driving while intoxicated (DWI) and engaging in aggravated assault. A total of four individuals were apprehended for DWI offenses, while three individuals were taken into custody for aggravated assault charges.

On Saturday, August 19, 2023, Irving police arrested 51-year-old Harland James on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. James, who had an outstanding warrant issued by the Dallas City Marshal's Office for an alcohol-related violation, was taken into custody after an investigation into the assault incident.

A separate incident occurred on the same day when 31-year-old Lamarcus Ferguson Mathis was arrested and charged with multiple offenses. Mathis faced charges that included unlawful possession of a firearm (UNL POSS FIREARM BY), unauthorized use of a weapon (UNAUTHORIZED USE OF), unlawful carrying of a weapon (UNL CARRYING WEAPON), and possession of marijuana under 2 ounces (POSS marijuana < 2 oz). Mathis had an existing warrant from the Dallas County Sheriff's Office for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (DSO AGG ASLT DW).

The following day, Sunday, August 20, 2023, the police arrested 30-year-old Andres Andrade for DWI 3rd or subsequent offense involving blood alcohol concentration (blood), which is classified as a felony 3. Andrade's arrest also took place under a warrant issued by the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office for a charge related to driving while intoxicated (CO-PV/DWI).

Also on August 20, 2023, the police apprehended 52-year-old Jerome Lyons on charges of domestic assault (DV ASLT IMPEDE BREAT) as a felony 3, and assault causing intentional or reckless bodily injury (ASLT INT/RECK Breath) as a felony 2.

Another individual, 31-year-old Zacarias Morales, was taken into custody on August 20, 2023, for domestic assault (DV ASLT IMPEDE BREAT) as a felony 3.

57-year-old Eddie Serrano was among those arrested on Saturday for driving while intoxicated. The arrest was made after police pulled Serrano over and conducted a blood alcohol concentration test. Serrano's blood alcohol level allegedly exceeded the legal limit, leading to his apprehension.

Another individual taken into custody that same day was 24-year-old Marvin Villacorta-Hernandez. Villacorta-Hernandez was arrested for DWI (blood) with open container (DWI W/OP CONT). The arrest indicates that authorities found an open container of alcohol within his vehicle, raising concerns about drinking and driving.

A third arrest was that of 39-year-old Kenyha Webb, who was apprehended for DWI 3rd or subsequent offense (blood). The arrest highlights Webb's history of DWI-related incidents and the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address repeated offenses related to driving under the influence.

The Irving Police Department continues to prioritize road safety by actively enforcing laws against impaired driving.
