The Irving Police Department apprehended a 24-year-old man identified as Josue Enrique Ventura-Cortez on August 23, 2023, at 7:42 pm, for allegedly harboring a runaway minor, as well as being the subject of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold.
The arrest followed an investigation into the disappearance of a minor child.
He was booked into the Irving Jail on charges related to harboring a runaway minor, a serious offense under Texas law. The circumstances surrounding the minor's presence at Ventura-Cortez's residence have not been disclosed by police officials.
Because Ventura-Cortez is an illegal immigrant in the U.S., the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) has requested a hold. He will be taken into immigration custody by ICE officials.
