Denton Police have reported the arrest of a 25-year-old Denton man on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, following an incident of indecent exposure outside a local bail bonds business. According to the police report, the man was taken into custody after allegedly engaging in inappropriate behavior in a public space.
The incident unfolded at approximately 3:18 p.m. when law enforcement received multiple calls regarding an indecent expose incident in the 1500 block of East McKinney Street. Several witnesses reported seeing a man lying on the sidewalk, engaging in acts of public indecency.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed the man standing outside the bail bonds business. The report indicates that one of the officers recognized the individual from previous encounters. Law enforcement officials approached the man and inquired about his actions. The man claimed he was merely tending to paperwork.
As part of their investigation, the officers detained the man and proceeded to interview witnesses present at the scene. Three individuals provided statements, confirming that they had witnessed the man with his genitals exposed and engaging in explicit activity in public. Notably, employees of a nearby bail bonds business recounted an additional disturbing aspect of the incident.
The employees revealed that the arrested man had entered their establishment and directed inappropriate comments towards female staff members. These comments were characterized as uncomfortable and inappropriate by the female employees and other individuals present at the business.
Based on the evidence gathered during the investigation, officers decided to place the 25-year-old man under arrest on suspicion of indecent exposure. Following his arrest, he was transported to the city jail without any further incident.
