On September 3, 2023, Johnson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) deputies responded to a shooting at a residence in the 4000 block of Oakview Circle, located just north of Alvarado, around 7:00 am.
A concerned neighbor placed a 9-1-1 call, reporting gunshots in the vicinity. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered a man and a woman in the driveway of the home, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
According to the Medical Examiner's office, the 57-year-old homeowner fatally shot his 53-year-old wife before turning the gun on himself. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Crime Scene investigators are working to identify the circumstances surrounding this apparent murder-suicide.
