Three students from the FFA organization at Nimitz High School will advance to state competition at Sam Houston State University December 3 and 4.
Competing at state will be the Public Relations team, consisting of Zac Ali, Katie Holt and Brightan Ehrhardt. Katie Holt will also compete in the Greenhand Creed Speaking Contest. The students won in their respective events at the area-level contest at Krum High School November 20.
Leadership development events at FFA state competition are focused upon creating situations for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication, knowledge of agriculture, and the FFA organization. Team and individual events reinforce subjects taught in agriculture science classrooms.
