Late in the evening on September 4, 2023, Tiffany Zarate, a 38-year-old resident of Irving, found herself in a world of legal trouble after an arrest by Irving Police. The arrest occurred at 11:41 pm when Ms. Zarate was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance, specifically, Penalty Group 1/1-B (Fentanyl), with a quantity of less than one gram.

In addition to the drug-related charge, Ms. Zarate was issued multiple citations totaling $1034 for various offenses, including expired license plates, failure to maintain financial responsibility (insurance), and driving with a license that had been suspended. To pay off these fines, she will be required to complete community service.

However, the complications for Ms. Zarate don't end there. It was discovered that she had outstanding warrants from several law enforcement agencies across different jurisdictions. These warrants included charges related to driving with a suspended license, failure to appear in court, failure to maintain financial responsibility, expired vehicle registration, and non-payment of fines.

  • Plano Police Department had warrants for her arrest for driving with a suspended license and failure to appear in court.
  • Farmers Branch Police Department issued warrants for failure to maintain financial responsibility, expired vehicle registration, driving with an expired driver's license, and failure to appear.
  • Waxahachie Police Department had a warrant for non-payment of fines.
  • The Dallas City Marshal's Office had warrants for speeding and running a stop sign.

The repeated offenses in various jurisdictions raise questions about how long it will take for authorities to impose more severe consequences on Ms. Zarate. Law enforcement agencies and the legal system will need to coordinate efforts to address her multiple charges and warrants appropriately.
