Irving ISD will be making surface improvements to the athletic tracks at Irving High School, MacArthur High School and Nimitz High School between the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, December 5 –January 3. Each of the tracks, and the playing fields within the tracks, will be closed based on the following schedule:
- MacArthur: Closed 9 p.m. December 5 through 6 a.m. December 13.
- Irving High: Closed at 9 p.m. December 12 through 6 a.m. December 20.
- Nimitz: Closed at 9 p.m. December 19 through 6 a.m. January 3.
IISD and its contractor anticipate completing the projects according to schedule, however it is possible that inclement weather could impact progress. The community should obey caution signs and construction barricades when approaching the high school athletic tracks. The IISD Security Department will monitor these sites to ensure compliance with the track closures.
