New Taqueria Los Pinos Restaurant Opens in South Irving

South Irving residents can now savor authentic Mexican cuisine at the newly opened Taqueria Los Pinos, located at 837 E Irving Blvd, Irving, TX 75060. The restaurant officially welcomed its first customers on September 4, 2023.

This establishment marks the second location of Taqueria Los Pinos, with the original restaurant situated in Lake Dallas, Texas, having been in operation for over 12 years.

Owners Idalia and Carlos share a dream of running a restaurant. Idalia's background in her family's business and her passion for cooking, coupled with Carlos' ambition to help his mom achieve her dream, culminated in the creation of Taqueria Los Pinos #2. Carlos also operates Fruta Xpress, a fruteria in Irving, alongside his family.

Carlos, a lifelong South Irving resident, recognized the scarcity of authentic Mexican dining options in the area. With a strong Hispanic population in Irving, he saw an opportunity to provide a taste of Mexico to the local community.

When asked about their most popular item, the owners highlighted their Gorditas, specifically the Estilo Durango, which they describe as bursting with flavor and tradition. Additionally, they emphasized the significance of their "Chata Plate," which consists of two tacos, two Gorditas, and a side of rice and beans. This plate is a tribute to a cherished family member, Victor Reyes, affectionately known as "El Chata," who tragically lost his life in a traffic accident just before the decision to open the restaurant. The Chata Plate serves as a heartfelt tribute to Victor's memory, as he was a staunch advocate of their restaurant venture and a true food enthusiast.

The Chata Plate has become one of their best-selling dishes, a source of pride for the owners as they continue to honor Victor Reyes's memory through their culinary offerings.

Taqueria Los Pinos welcomes South Irving residents to savor the rich flavors of Mexican cuisine and celebrate the memory of "El Chata" through their lovingly crafted Chata Plate.
