Irving Schools Foundation (ISF) presented its annual report during the Board of Trustees meeting December 13.
Mandy Hamilton, ISF executive director, reported that the foundation has awarded approximately $30,000 in grants to teachers and paraprofessionals, and approximately $150,000 in scholarships to students and teachers. Special events for the year included the Breakfast with the Stars, Fall Education Luncheon and Fellows Ceremony. New events included a golf tournament and 5K Fun Run. Events raised more than $150,000 for ISF. Throughout the year, four new Fellows and nine new scholarships were dedicated, and more than $10,000 was awarded to IISD campus and district teachers of the year. The annual payroll deduction campaign raised $208,000 in pledges and nine schools had 100 percent participation.
Hamilton concluded the report noting that ISF has awarded more than $2.1 million in scholarships and teacher grants in the 25 years of the foundation’s operation. Also, more than $1.5 million has been raised from annual payroll deduction campaigns, and more than 2,000 students and teachers have received grants and scholarships.
