Tarrant County Sheriff Deputy Shot in East Fort Worth Incident

In a distressing incident today, a Tarrant County Sheriff Deputy was shot twice while working an off-duty security job at the Fort Worth Community Credit Union in East Fort Worth.

The shooting occurred at the East Fort Worth Community Credit Union on Brentwood Stair Road. The deputy, whose identity has not been disclosed, was transported to JPS Hospital in critical condition. As of now, the deputy's current condition remains unknown.

Tarrant County Judge Tim O'Hare confirmed that the deputy had sustained two gunshot wounds and is undergoing surgery at the moment. O'Hare also informed the public that the suspect responsible for the shooting is now in custody.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident, and further details will be provided as the situation unfolds.

UPDATE 11/27/2023 @10 pm: The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office provided the following statement: "We are happy to report that Deputy Brent Brown is out of surgery and will be on the road to recovery very soon."

UPDATE #2: The Officer has been identified as Deputy Brent Brown.
